About Hannah

Bio

 Hannah is a Chapel Hill native and has been teaching yoga in the area since 2007. Her primary teachers are Sommer and Paul Sobin, and Dr. Douglas Brooks.

 

Hannah first studied yoga while living abroad at Galway Yoga Centre in Ireland. This Sevananda-style school gave her a firm foundation in the practices of Asana, Pranayama, Meditation and Yoga Nidra. While living in NYC, Hannah studied at Integral Yoga and upon returning to Chapel Hill, she continued expanding her studies through Yin Yoga, Anusara Yoga, Bikram Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga. Hannah has completed a 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training with Ti Harmony, a 200 hour Anusara Teacher Training with Sommer & Paul Sobin, a Level 1 Therapy Traning with Anusara Yoga Founder John Friend. and, most recently, a 200 hour Teacher Training with HarDarshan Kaur Khalsa. Hannah is also a graduate of The Body Institute, located in Siler City, NC.

Hannah's passion for yoga and her desire to deepen her own practice brought her to numerous workshops with nationally known teachers including  Doug Keller, Todd Norian,  Bill Mahoney, Paul Mueller-Ortega, Betsey Downing, Sarah Faircloth, Sianna Sherman, Seane Corn, Patty Townsend, Sarah Powers, Paul Grilley, Lisa Rischitelli, Angela Farmer & Victor VanKooten, and Gabriel Halpern.


Hannah's teaching style has an emphasis on yoga philosophy, and is upbeat and celebratory. She invites students to back away from their 'edge' and instead find the expression of the pose that feels the most therapeutic and resonant throughout the body.
